His projects have included productions with Disney and Sydney Theatre Company, and he has collaborated with the likes of AFI|AACTA Award-winner John Duigan, Academy Award-nominated David Bradbury and Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett.
He has received critical acclaim, and is a two-time AiF Heath Ledger Award nominee.
Rew has been cast as the narrator for The Bright Side, a memoir of Australian Football League champion Jack Riewoldt, who won three premierships and has kicked the most first goals of any player in AFL history. Production began in September 2023 and is currently underway.
Hazzard was the supporting role of Sy Spector in the Australian premiere national tour of the The Bodyguard opposite Paulini Curuenavuli, Prinnie Stevens and Kip Gamblin. On screen, Rew portrayed the leading role of Jack Kerrans in AFI|AACTA Award-winning writer-director John Duigan’s feature Careless Love, opposite Nammi Le and alongside Peter O’Brien and David Field. Duigan is the acclaimed filmmaker behind Australian canon classics The Year My Voice Broke, Flirting and Sirens, with his works starring Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Charlize Theron, Sam Neill, Ben Mendelsohn, and Baz Lurhmann.
Melbourne publication The Age's film critic Jake Wilson wrote that year, "The two best Australian films by a wide margin came from expatriate writer-directors... P.J. Hogan's Mental and John Duigan's Careless Love", and placed it within his top ten films alongside the likes of Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' with Jude Law and Chloë Grace Moretz, Kenneth Lonergan's 'Margaret' with Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo, and Paul Thomas Anderson's 'The Master' with Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jesse Plemens and Jaoquin Phoenix.
Rew portrayed John Bryant in Academy Award-nominated and AFI|AACTA Award-winning director David Bradbury's docufilm The Crater opposite David Berry.

His work in series includes the roles of Michael in Underbelly: The Golden Mile opposite Emma Booth and with Ryan Corr, Rick Allen in Love Child with Harriet Dyer, Angus Reid in Crownies with Todd Lasance, Indiana Evans and Marta Dusseldorp, Lucas in Dance Academy, Eddie 1918 in My Place, Jamie Hewson in Cops L.A.C, Keiran Munroe in Home and Away opposite Samara Weaving, and Drew Redman / Gus Adington in All Saints - which was his screen debut, the same series that began the career of acclaimed Australian actor Mia Wasikowska.
On stage, he played the leading role of Melchior Gabor in the Australian premiere of the musical Spring Awakening with the Sydney Theatre Company, opposite Akos Armont and Clare Bowen, directed by Geordie Brookman under the co-artistic directorship of Andrew Upton and Cate Blanchett.
